Our Mission
HungaryReads was created to fill a gap in English-language content about Hungarian literary culture. While Hungary has produced Nobel laureates, internationally acclaimed novelists, and some of Europe's most beautiful libraries, finding accessible, well-written information about these topics in English has always been surprisingly difficult.
We set out to change that by building a resource that helps English-speaking readers, whether they are expats living in Budapest, travelers passing through, or curious readers anywhere in the world, discover the richness of Hungarian books and reading culture. Every article we publish is based on genuine personal experience, careful research, and a deep love of reading. We reference authoritative sources like the Hungarian Literature Online portal and major literary institutions to ensure accuracy.
